Adding Speed Dial Boxes in Opera

I have to say first and foremost that I am hopelessly in love with my Opera web browser.  I have been ever since the day when my old Firefox 1.x crashed and wouldn't run or reinstall...ah the fond memories of running Windows OS..if only I had known *sigh*

At any rate, I had to replace my comatose Firefox with something because the only other option was Internet Explorer (yeah, right!)

That started it all..the love affair I have had with Opera has continued now for what 3 or 4 years now?  I'm now a much smarter Linux user now and I don't even have a regular email client...I just use Opera Mail and we suit quite well...I never had much use for the Speed Dial Feature though..until now.  Recently I have been acquiring a couple of domains and the hosts that inevitably come with as well as blog advertising opportunities I have been trying out for a little bit of money..

This has been quite a drain on my already far-gone memory, so I recently started using and then relying on my SpeedDial..so much so that I needed more speed dial!!  So here is the way to add Speed Dials to your Speed Dial...enjoy it as much as I have and fall even harder for Opera!

Step 1:  On Opera, on the toolbar..click on Help, then on About Opera.  Under "paths" section, Take note of the location on your computer of the Opera directory.

For example:  On Linux, my path to the Opera directory looks like this:  /home/pariah/.opera

Step 2:  Close Opera!! <--important

Step 3:  Using the info you got as to where the Opera directory is on your computer, go there and find "speeddial.ini" with any text editor such as gedit, kate, or *rolls eyes* Notepad

Step 4:  Add this to the bottom of the text file or at the top..somewhere you don't have to look too hard for it in case you want to adjust it in the future...

Add this as you see it:

[Size]
Rows=3
Columns=4

Note:  This will give you 12 speed dial boxes.  If you have a widescreen monitor, feel free to make the Rows=4 and have little baby speed dials everywhere!

Step 5.  Save the changes and minimize in case you did something silly.  Don't worry this would be very hard to screw up.

Step 6.  Restart Opera

Step 7.  Experience a moment of true happiness.

Writer's Block and a Deadline

Everyone has something they are good at; I'm a writer.  I have been hired as a freelance writer on multiple occasions, to the benefit of both parties.  I have written many different types of custom writing for various clients, depending on their needs and my knowledge of the subject they need written about.  Sometimes, though, after a long while of not doing much on the writing front, my skills can get somewhat rusty.  Enter every writers nightmare: writer's block.  Sometimes inspiration can be difficult to come by so it's necessary to have several sources at hand to give a boost when needed.  If ever I get stuck on a particularly technical piece or with a subject I know little about, I can always get a professional to write my essay .  I can always turn to writers with advanced postgraduate degrees and professional business experience to help me get a paper that I can use as a source for my work.  It's nice to know that I don't have to worry abo...
